Stubbington Day 4

Thursday

Yet another stunning day outside.
This morning we collected our mammal hotels that we set up yesterday and carefully inspected the visitors.

 

We found Long Tailed Field Mice, Bank Voles and Field Voles.

We then sketched our visitors and took them back home.

 

 

 

After lunch we took part in the Eggstreme Challenge. The children had to work together in teams to solve problems to earn counters.

 We then used the counters to buy resources.

We used the resources to build a safety capsule to protect an egg.

 

 

The eggs were then put into a catapult and launched across the playground.

Two managed to survive.

 

Stubbington Day 3

Wednesday

Day three has been another beautiful day with lots more learning.
This morning we helped rescue people who had been caught in an earthquake.

At the end we all had to cross 'Lava Leap'.

 

Even Mr Innes had a go!

In the afternoon we explored the conservation area looking for signs that animals are living there.

We then created mammal hotels which we put out in the conservation area. We will check them tomorrow to see if we have had any over night visitors.

Stubbington Day 1 and 2

We have had a wonderful time so far. We have been building, exploring, running, searching and creating!

Monday

After settling in yesterday we had to build a shelter after our plane crash landed.

We then had to test if our shelters were water proof.

Some were not!!

 

Tuesday

 

We started today learning about Harry Humus and the journey he has been on.

 

We explored the different aspects that make up soil.

We then learned how bats use echo location to find their prey.



 

We learned how the inside of a tree works and then created our own food chains with producers and consumers.

 

After lunch we took a short walk to the beach. We started to collect creatures to create our own rock pools.

 

While the rock pools settled we went on a fossil hunt and then had a sand castle competition.

 

We then checked on our rock pools.
