Investigating Water Resistance

In Year 4 we have been looking at how the shape of objects can reduce or increase the amount of water resistance.

 

First we made different shapes out of  Blu-Tac and dropped them into cylinders of water.

 

                             We then timed how long each shape took to sink to the bottom.

 

It really helped that today was an extremely warm sunny day as the water was refreshingly cool.
