Stubbington Day Two

Day Two
We haven't had the best weather today. Thank goodness for wellies and waterproof clothing!
This morning we went for a three and a half mile walk along the beach.

We looked along the shore line for living creatures.

We found several crabs.

Courtney was brave enough to pick one up!
A Slipper Limpet stack was also found.

We walked all the way to Titchfield Haven and then walked back. We did get a bit wet in the rain!

This afternoon we learned about life cycles.

We looked closely at the soil and identified what it is made up of.

We then learned about the root system and internal workings of a tree.

Then we played a game called Bat-Moth. We had to use echo location to find our prey.

Stubbington - Day One

Stubbington Day One

Today we all arrived and set up our dormitories. We learned the rules of the centre and made some new friends.
After lunch we went to the beach for a lesson.

We made our own rock pools and added wildlife to it. We also collected natural items from the beach and made a beach rainbow from all the different colours. Someone even found a sharks tooth!

Fishbourne Roman Palace

Year Three visited Fishbourne Roman Palace today near Chichester as part of their Romans topic. We had a workshop at the beginning of the day. We were experimental archaeologists.

We learned what it would be like to work in an Ancient Roman kitchen as a slave.

The son and daughter of the King were there to oversee the work being done.

We looked around the mosaic room and museum. We saw the remains of the under floor heating system and the beautiful mosaics.

As the weather was good for us we were able to explore the gardens.

We were able to have a bit of fun amongst all the learning!

Thank you very much to all the staff at Fishbourne for a great day and to the parent helpers who came with us. Thank you.

Global Day

At the beginning of the Spring term we all spent an exciting day looking at one particular country to widen our understanding of what different countries are like.
Year R looked at Kenya
Year 1 looked at Russia
Year 2 and 3 looked at South Africa
Year 4 looked at Australia
Year 5 looked at Poland
Year 6 looked at Egypt

We worked hard all day and produced a display board to go into the hall.
