We have had so much fun during our great grounds week . I am so tired after our opportunity to sketch any living plant, measuring trees so we can find out thier age and orienteering was fun when we had to find the cards but it was a little tricky at the same time!

Whilst sketching we all enjoyed searching for plants of different types.Adding as much detail as possible was tricky but worth it as they were all absoutely amazing. Also they looked so realistic as we took our time.

We had so much fun during grounds week.

They really meant to put the red arrow between the 2 green lines for orienteering. We had a great time at grounds week.

Frog's Science Experiment

This week we have been marooned on a desert island! Our challenge was to make a shelter that is waterproof, windproof and strong.
First we explored lots of different materials.
Then we built our shelters. We had to work as a team. It was difficult to make the shelters stand up but we perserved!

Then it was time to test our shelters. We planned how we were going to test it.

We talked about how to make it fair.

This is how we tested if the shelter was waterproof.

This is how we tested if it was windproof. We are going to leave our shelters overnight to see if they are strong. We will check in the morning.

The leaf shelter was not waterproof because it had holes in it. Poor Robbie the Rabbit got wet!!! Mrs Llewellyn was very sad.

Our choir performed in the SSMA Proms concert at Central Hall on 30th June 2015.  Children from Year 2 through to Year 6 got through the auditions, and on the night, sang 3 songs - two from The Sound of Music and one from Beauty and the Beast.  They were really fantastic and myself and all the staff who attended would just like to say how very proud we are of all the children.  They enjoyed performances from other schools as well.    Mrs Pritchard.
Children from Year 4 enjoyed a great afternoon and evening at Central Hall on 24th June.  This year they have been learning to play the violin as part of the In2Music Project.  They were invited to perform alongside other schools, playing various violin pieces including Dr Who and James Bond theme tune. They were also treated with a fantastic performance from Cordelectra electric string trio.  We are very proud of all the children who took part.  A big well done.  Mrs Pritchard, Miss Perkins and all staff.
